How to play
Hex Cascade is a hex-grid puzzle game built for satisfying clears and clutch comebacks. Tap connected groups of the same color, watch gravity do the rest, and keep the infection from eating your board. Big chains mean cascades — and cascades mean glory.
The basics
Core loopOne tap can reshape the whole board. Think in groups, not single hexes.
- Tap a group of two or more touching hexes of the same color to clear them.
- Hexes above fall with gravity. Fresh hexes drop in from the top.
- When falling hexes land into new matches, you trigger a cascade. Chain them for bonus points.
- Some levels set a minimum group size (“Min group”). Bigger clears are worth planning for.
Infection
Watch the greenGreen infected hexes spread over time. If they block your moves or overrun the board, you lose. Clear them like any other color — but don’t wait too long.
- Infection creeps while you set up combos. Watch the objective bar and on-screen warnings.
- Some levels cap how much infection is allowed — plan around the limit, not just the score.
- Stuck in a green nightmare? The Cure power-up wipes a huge infected cluster in one shot.
Game modes
From home, tap Play to choose your run. Journey is level-based with objectives and stars; Endless is a survival score chase with rising infection pressure. After Journey level 10, Daily missions appear on the hub — five rotating tasks that send you into both modes. Finish every task to earn shards and open the Supply Capsule.
Journey
JourneyHand-crafted levels with specific objectives — clear cells, pop specials, keep infection low, beat a timer, and more. Earn up to three stars per level. You have lives; failing costs one (they regenerate over time).
Endless
EndlessNo fixed finish line — pick a difficulty (4, 5, or 6 colors), then survive as long as you can. Infection pressure ramps the longer you last.
Special hexes
Board spiceNot every hex is a plain color tile. Learn the specials and you’ll turn tough boards into highlight-reel clears.
Your bread and butter. Match two or more of the same color to clear.
Glowing green and spreading. Clear it before it clears you.
Matches with any color — the setup piece for monster combos.
Include it in a match and watch a wide blast tear through the board.
Triggers a line blast when cleared — great for sniping awkward clusters.
Shiny objectives on many levels. Pop them to hit star targets.
×2, ×3, ×4, ×5 — bigger groups through this hex score even bigger.
Immune to normal matches. Work around it or bring a power-up.
Bonus levels
Journey sprinkles in optional bonus stages every seven levels. There are four bonus minigame types today — including Hex Attack, Space Hex, and Hex Bounce — with more modes added over time. Different rules each round, same shard rewards.
Power-ups
Power-ups sit on the bar at the bottom of the screen during a level. Tap one, then tap the board to use it.
- Pick — choose any single hex to clear (wildcard targeting).
- Bomb — place a bomb blast on the grid.
- Color — change a hex to a color you need for a match.
- Cure — remove a large cluster of infection in one shot.
Stock up in the Store with shards (⬡), the in-game currency you earn from play and daily rewards.

Tips
- Look for clears that drop hexes into new matches — cascades are the fastest way to hit cell-count goals.
- Don’t ignore infection on the edges; it spreads while you set up combos.
- Save power-ups for boss levels and tight objective boards.
